^^ This is why I love Eugene so much. More so than any other Disney character, he’s transformed by love to the point where he’s willing to (and actually does) die for it. His sacrifice is especially astounding when you consider he was a selfish cad and a bit of a misanthrope who dreamt of being alone in the beginning of the film.“I think Eugene is the bravest prince in a Disney movie, he’s the only one that has actually died for the one he loved.”
Well, The beast died for Belle right? But I agree with this, he’s the bravest Prince of them all *-* and I love him ♥
The Beast was stabbed during his fight against Gaston. He was very heroic, because he was fighting for Belle’s freedom (Gaston would have pursued her until he got what he wanted or worse) but he didn’t choose to give up his life, he was just mortally wounded when Gaston stabbed him in the back.
Eugene could have been saved by Rapunzel and her hair, but he chose to cut off her hair and give up his chance to live, in order to save Rapunzel and her freedom.
I think this picture is perfect for this confession, because it shows that point where he realizes that he has to cut off her hair (and thus die of his wound) in order to save her, and you know he’s making that choice.
